The following are shout outs from our patients and families. Kudos are wonderful, but more importantly, we are grateful to have helped build these communication connections.
There are no words for the level of appreciation we have for Tara Mahaney. Our daughter, Wyndsor, started speech therapy with Tara just after her 6th birthday. We had hoped that much of her speech would improve after her first year in school, but Wynn was still very frustrated by her speech obstacles. She would cry when telling us that people would pick on her for the way she talked.
Tara was able to view some videos I had of Wynn, set up a Zoom evaluation, and immediately went to work creating a plan to help her. We are so impressed by Wynn’s growth in JUST 6 SESSIONS! Tara is super engaging. The activities she does with Wynn are fun and entertaining for Wynn, so it doesn't even seem like the hard “work” that it is.
Finding Tara has been a gift to our daughter. Tara is truly invested in her growth and well-being. We will forever be grateful for Tara's expertise and we will always appreciate the loving way she works with Wynn.
My daughter was diagnosed with a tongue thrust. It impacted her speech and led to her tongue protruding out of her mouth. After Tara completed her evaluation, she recommended a treatment plan to correct my daughter’s tongue thrust. Upon the completion of the myofunctional therapy provided by Tara, my daughter’s speech was normal and her tongue no longer protruded from her mouth. Tara’s approach to therapy is compassionate, individualized, engaging and fun! We are so grateful for her support and guidance.
Connections has been the answer to our dreams for our 8-year-old! He is articulating like never before, is excited for speech, and motivated to work. He understands the cues for targeted sounds during speech and responds positively when asked to use them while in the “real world”.
Miss Tara listens to us, helps us understand speech and language terminology and makes meaningful and relevant connections. For our son: practicing sounds at Connections means he also gets Miss Tara to play football or bake cookies! She will create a magical world of language play for your child and the results will be incredible!
